Air Regulations

About the Course

Air Regulations covers the rules and procedures that govern civil aviation. It explains the responsibilities of pilots, the requirements associated with their licences and the procedures followed when operating an aircraft.

At IFA, we teach the subject by connecting these requirements to their purpose and application. Students study how international aviation standards relate to Indian regulations, how air traffic services operate and which responsibilities rest with the pilot. This approach helps students make sense of the terminology and distinguish between requirements that can appear similar.

The course also covers Human Performance and Limitations, including the physiological and psychological factors that affect a pilot’s work. The syllabus brings these topics together with operational procedures and aviation communication.

The course follows the DGCA CPL Air Regulation syllabus and is suitable for students beginning the subject or preparing for another examination attempt.

The course follows Appendix C of DGCA CAR Section 7, Series B, Part IV, which prescribes the Air Regulation syllabus for CPL aeroplanes.

Examination Format

• Examination: DGCA CPL Air Regulation

• Question type: Multiple-choice questions

• Assessment: Theoretical knowledge of regulations, human performance and operational procedures

• Minimum passing score: 70%

Preparation requires careful reading and an understanding of when a requirement or procedure applies. IFA’s chapter tests help students identify areas of confusion, while mock tests provide practice across the subject.
