About the Programme
The IndiGo Cadet Pilot Programme offers a route from initial pilot training to a Commercial Pilot Licence and Airbus A320 type rating through its training partners. Applicants go through selection before entering the airline's training pathway.

What the Course Covers
Mathematics, Physics and English
Academic preparation covers numerical calculations, algebra, ratios, percentages, speed–distance–time problems and the application of school-level physics. English work develops comprehension and clear expression. The emphasis is on understanding a question and choosing a sound method before increasing speed.
Aptitude and Reasoning
Preparation develops logical reasoning, interpretation of information, attention and problem-solving. Assessment familiarisation is matched to the selected training partner's published process.
Personality and Self-awareness
Students explore how to reflect on their habits, responses to pressure and approach to working with others. The focus is on honest, consistent answers and a realistic understanding of personal strengths and areas for improvement.
Group Tasks and Discussions
Preparation covers contributing a useful point, listening carefully, considering another person's suggestion and helping a group reach a decision. Students learn to explain their reasoning without taking over the conversation.
Personal Interview
Mentoring helps students discuss their interest in aviation, knowledge of their chosen pathway and examples from education, work or everyday responsibilities. Answers should show what the applicant actually did, learnt and would do differently.
Selection Process and Assessment Pattern
The route depends on the training partner:
- Chimes Aviation Academy (CAA) — ADAPT assessment, group task and personal interviews with IndiGo.
- Flight Training Adelaide (FTA) — application screening and invitation, ADAPT assessment, then IndiGo interview and group activity.
- Skyborne — aptitude, English and personality assessment, followed by group discussion and personal interview.
- Marigold Aviation — online ADAPT assessment, IndiGo group task and personal interview.
Question counts, timings and qualifying criteria are determined by the partner. The assessment invitation provides the instructions for the applicant's selection round.
What IFA Offers
Chapter tests and mocks give students regular opportunities to check their understanding. Doubt-solving sessions and mentoring help them return to difficult topics and make better use of their next practice attempt.

Entry requirements are partner-specific. For example, CAA publishes a minimum of 51% each in Physics, Mathematics and English at 10+2 level, along with its age, medical and other eligibility conditions.
